Aegis has truly been eye-opening in identifying designer drug use, which seem to be rising over the past years and are not identified through other drug testing platforms. Their testing allows us to further assess each patient’s adherence to treatment and avoid dangerous interactions that can come from prescribing specific medications to patients who are using designer drugs illicitly.
You don’t know what you don’t know. The standard ‘run of the mill’ drug testing in general leaves out so much. Working with panels that are up-to date allows for knowledge of what is in my area now.
The individual in my care was completely unaware that she had received a drug that was substituted with a designer benzodiazepine. This opened the door for a greater understanding of the risks of her substance use, and eventually led to her seeking out rehabilitative care. Having the ability to identify at-risk compounds helps to keep those I care for safe, and in this case, led to a significantly improved clinical outcome for this individual.
Aegis had made a difference with my patients by informing me of interactions and effectively reporting what is in their system.
Aegis testing helps us to see if there is compliance, so meds are not increased, changed, or ruled out too early. It also helps to reduce adverse events by showing conflicts.
