Joel Galanter
Interim Chief Executive Officer

Since joining Aegis in 2013, Joel has served in senior executive leadership roles, including Chief Legal and Government Affairs Officer, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and member of the Board of Directors, overseeing the Company’s legal, regulatory, government affairs, and corporate governance functions. An experienced advocate on laboratory and healthcare policy matters, Galanter has provided national leadership in advancing policies and initiatives that expand access to diagnostic testing and support clinicians in addressing the evolving landscape of the opioid epidemic.
Prior to Aegis, he was a Partner at Adams and Reese LLP. He earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law.
Matthew Hardison, Ph.D., FACMG
Senior Vice President, Lab Operations

Dr. Hardison is the laboratory director for the BioPharma laboratory. Prior to joining Aegis Sciences Corporation in 2015, he was the founding laboratory director of Assurance Scientific Laboratories in Birmingham, AL.
Dr. Hardison received his Bachelor of Science from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, and his Doctorate of Philosophy in molecular physiology and biophysics from the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) in Birmingham, AL. Following a post-doctoral fellowship at UAB, Dr. Hardison completed a fellowship in Clinical Molecular Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.
Dr. Hardison is a member of the American College of Medical Genetics and the American Society for Mass Spectrometry. He has published numerous peer reviewed publications, book chapters, and presented at several scientific meetings in the fields of immunology, toxicology, and genetics.
Rebecca Heltsley, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President, R&D and Quality

Dr. Heltsley conducts research in measurement science to enable Aegis to respond to the emerging needs in the forensic drug testing arena. She is responsible for the development, implementation and assessment of new technologies. Prior to joining Aegis Sciences Corporation in 2007, Dr. Heltsley completed a National Research Council postdoctoral fellowship and served as a Research Chemist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Charleston, SC.
Dr. Heltsley earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental science, and biology and master’s degree in chemistry from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. Following completion of her Master of Science, she received her Ph.D. in environmental toxicology from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. She is a member of the American Chemical Society.
David Priestley
Chief Financial Officer

David Priestley is a highly accomplished financial executive with over 20 years of experience. Prior to his current position, David served as the Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting at Inform Diagnostics.
Before his time at Inform Diagnostics, David held various finance-related positions at companies such as Caris Life Sciences and Miraca Holdings.
David Priestley has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from East Carolina University – College of Business and is currently a candidate for Master of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. David is also certified as a Certified Public Accountant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts – Division of Professional Licensure – Board of Accountancy.
Tim Ryan
Chief Information Officer

Tim Ryan has more than 30 years of experience in Information Technology. Prior to joining Aegis in 2017, Tim was the Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Solution Delivery at Miraca Life Sciences, Inc. His extensive career includes over 20 years in the laboratory industry including concentrations in strategic connectivity, interoperability and billing.
Tim earned a Masters of Business Administration from Saint Peter’s University and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Muhlenberg College.
Mike Ziegler
Chief Commercial Officer

Mike leads the sales, marketing, and client relations teams with responsibility to design and deliver the most relevant and impactful tools to help clinicians make better decisions. Prior to Aegis Sciences Mike led the commercial team at Ameritox and CBLPath.
Mike served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps and is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross.
