Aegis Sciences Corporation Receives A2LA Accreditation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 8, 2015) – Aegis Sciences Corporation, headquartered in Nashville, TN, and one of the nation’s leading laboratory sciences companies, announced today that the company’s Wilma Rudolph Sports Testing Laboratory® has received American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) under the Chemical Testing ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Accreditation Program.

Aegis pursued A2LA accreditation to deliver internationally-recognized accredited laboratory testing services to its sports clients. The accreditation process included a rigorous third-party verification of the competence of Wilma Rudolph Sports Testing Laboratory’s services against the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005.  By receiving this accreditation, Aegis further demonstrates its dedication to the operation of a sound management system, which puts them in full control of their processes to consistently deliver technically valid test results to the athletic community.

“This accreditation reaffirms our commitment to deliver accurate and reliable testing results to our clients by meeting strict standards for continual process improvement,” said Aegis Founder, Chairman, and CEO Dr. David L. Black.”

The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), established in 1978, has a primary mission to provide world-class accreditation and training services for testing and calibration laboratories, inspection bodies, proficiency testing providers, reference material producers and product certifiers. Aegis remains the largest independent anti-doping laboratory in the U.S. operating out of the Wilma Rudolph Sports Testing Laboratory and serving more than 130 top U.S. colleges/universities, high schools, and professional sports organizations.
