Lead Scientist - Forensic Immunochemistry Lab (Nashville, TN)

The Lead Scientist - Forensic Immunochemistry Lab will provide technical and scientific guidance to laboratory team members during designated shift.  This responsibility is an amendment to current job roles, and is performed concurrently with other job responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide technical and scientific guidance to laboratory team members including:

  • Troubleshooting of failed results and any deviation from Standard Operating Procedures
  • Communicate and modify work flow due to instrument, supplies, or other issue in absence of other laboratory leadership team members
  • Identify and assist in implementation of opportunities for improvement within workflow and scientific practices
  • Maintain and expand scientific knowledge and professional development
  • Assist in training of new team members and verification of competency
  • Assist the Laboratory Manager with production method troubleshooting and special projects as directed
  • Conduct studies on test results to improve precision and consistency in methods
  • Perform production duties to achieve company goals within assigned cell
  • Leadership Duties
  • Provide supervision to others through motivation, direction, review and feedback of assigned tasks

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Degree in Chemistry or related field or Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist license and certification
  • At least one year of Aegis experience in assigned cell
