Safety Manager
The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring a hazard-free work environment for all Aegis Team Members. This position will oversee the development and implementation of safety policies and programs as well as provide safety training to the Aegis Team. The Safety Manager will maintain safety and risk assessment records for evaluating safety procedure effectiveness.
Additional responsibilities include:
· Oversight of safety programs within Aegis’ workplaces
· Conducting on-site audit of facilities to assess for risks of injury and OSHA compliance
· Performing safety and biohazard inspections, audits and tests to identify safety risks
· Coordinating and implementing improvements with area team members and managers in order to secure working areas by eliminating any hazards and establishing safe practices
· Developing and communicating safety policies; providing training and ongoing education about safety issues
· Report, receive, and investigate incidents; identify causes of incidents and implement changes to mitigate likelihood of the safety incident
· Maintaining accurate safety and risk assessment records in order to analyze safety procedure effectiveness
· Creating and updating written safety plans for all facilities in compliance with federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety
· Devloping and conducting safety training programs. Maintaining employee training logs
· Conducting New Team Member safety orientation
Qualified candidates for this position must possess:
· A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Operations, or related discipline
· A minimum of 2 years experience in project management and/or process improvement
· Professional HSE, OSHA certification or the desire to attain
· Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and either Minitab or JMP statistical software
· Data analysis proficiency
· Management experience with proven problem-solving skills
